Kashi Review

I, like most of my readers, am a very busy mom. We are constantly on the go with school, practice, shopping, etc.. With being busy, comes quick snacks and eating on the go. As much as I would love to sit here and tell you that I make sure my kids don't get sugary snacks and junk food, I would be struck by lighting at the very thought of putting those words as truth. I have carrots, grapes, apples, and other good foods for my three to grab and go, however, they are still kids and they still want things that are not good. I was offered to try Kashi's Chocolate Soft-Baked Squares and share them with my family, friends, my readers. My kids seen the box on the front door step, screaming at me "WHAT IS IT?!?!?!". Now usually, I open the box and they soon sigh in disappointment, for there is nothing in the box they can play with or devour, but not this time. My kids, 7, 5 & 3, tore open a box of the squares before I had a chance to say no. My younger two could care less what is in the food they inhale, as long as it tastes....edible, they aren't too picky. My oldest is a avid reader of ingredient lists, and nutritional labels, he didn't get it from me or his father, my father-in-law is diabetic. My mother-in-law has made it very important to my oldest to read everything you eat. He immediately spun the box around to find the label and list, i watched as he snacked on the bar as her read intently, trying to find out why mom was sooo ok with them all having a bar so early in the day. He stopped, looked down at the soft, chocolaty bar in his hand, swallowed and flashed me a look that could make the toughest of secret agents crumble to the truth. "This has vegetables in it!?!" were the only words that came out, and with that the younger two shot me glances, ones that could kill. How dare mom let us have something so "junk food" looking, but have healthy ingredients in it, enter our mouths! Some days I wish he couldn't read :)

So to get down to the facts......

HELLO! Sweet potatoes are the second ingredient! They have an awesome amount of fiber, they've used Agave as a sweetener, there is black bean flour in there too! I love them! But my kids, crave them! They ask for them in their lunches, for snacks, and for breakfast! My oldest simply loves the  Banana Chocolate Chip bars.

My family has found these new snacks to be awesome, quick and good for you. They are moist, and very chocolatey, and hit the spot. Two of my fabulous readers will recieve a coupon for a FREE box! Leave a comment below and I will choose the winner* on Oct. 10th!
